About us
Hi, thanks for stopping by! 👋
I’m Jenna, and I thought I’d tell you a little bit about the person behind Little Adventures.
I’ve lived in Devon all my life, apart from a few little spells of ‘testing out’ other places - but I’ve always found my way back. There’s something really special about Devon. I love the moors, the beaches and the slower pace of life, and I feel incredibly lucky to now be raising our family here too.
I qualified as a primary school teacher in 2009 and still work part-time at a lovely village school. Alongside teaching, I’m also kept busy running not one, but two little businesses - Little Adventures and my nail studio, The Nail Nook!
I’ve always loved the idea of creating spaces where people can slow down, feel comfortable and have a little time for themselves. At The Nail Nook, I get to do exactly that in a different way - I love pampering my clients and creating a calm, welcoming space where they can switch off, relax and enjoy some much-needed ‘me time’. I think that same feeling of comfort and care is a big part of what I wanted to bring to Little Adventures too.
At home, I live with my partner Joe, who is a builder - so yes, he is pretty handy to have around! He has been incredibly supportive of me from the very beginning. Honestly, none of this would have been possible without him. He is one of the most patient people I know and has always encouraged me to follow my dreams, not just with Little Adventures, but in life too.
In July 2021, we welcomed our beautiful son, Louis, followed by our daughter, Lillia, in March 2024. They really are our absolute world and, if I’m honest, Louis was probably the reason this whole adventure began.
After visiting a lot of play spaces as a family, I often found myself thinking, “I wish there was somewhere that…” So, rather than waiting for someone else to create it, we decided to create somewhere that ticked all our boxes.
That’s how Little Adventures came to life.
I’ve always loved the Montessori approach to play and wanted to create a space that encourages little ones to explore, discover and develop their independence through play - while still feeling warm, cosy and homely.
Our hope is that Little Adventures feels like somewhere you can truly relax. A friendly, welcoming space where children can play, explore and follow their curiosity, while grown-ups can enjoy a coffee and a little bit of time out too.
You’ll probably spot Louis and Lillia during your visits - they both love coming to the café, playing and generally making themselves at home or being great little helpers!
We can’t wait to welcome you and your little ones to Little Adventures soon.
Love,
Jenna, Joe, Louis & Lillia x 🤎
