About us

Hi, thanks for stopping by! 

I'm Jenna, a little bit about me (I promise to keep it short)…I have lived in Devon my whole life, with periods of ‘testing’ other places, but I’ve always come back. It’s a special place; I love the moors and the beaches we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep. I now feel so blessed to be able to bring our family up here too.

I qualified in 2009 as a primary school teacher and currently work part time in a lovely village school. I live with my partner Joe who is a builder (yes he’s quite handy!) and he is as ever, hugely supportive. None of this would be possible without him, he is the most patient person I know and supports me to pursue my dreams…not just with this play café, but in life. 

In July 2021, we had our beautiful son called Louis, who is our absolute world! To be honest, he is probably the main reason for jumping in to this ‘not so little’ adventure. We have been to A LOT of 'play' spaces and never found one that ticked all our boxes...so we had to create somewhere that did! I am sure you will meet him on your visits as he loves hanging out and playing in the café too. 

There is soon to be a new addition too! We are expecting our newest family member in April, we can't wait to hang out in our favourite space with another baby!

I love the Montessori approach to play and we aim to provide a space that promotes independence through play, sparked by curiosity but feeling like home. We strive to create a cosy and friendly environment where you feel safe and welcomed to relax and play.
